For the Relais & Châteaux branding, I led the redesign of their iconic fleur de lys symbol, giving it a contemporary lift while preserving its timeless heritage.
Alongside this, I worked on the typography to strike a balance between modern impact and classic elegance. By pairing a more dynamic, contemporary typeface with a traditional serif font, we captured the essence of Relais & Châteaux—a revered institution with a rich history, deeply committed to the authenticity and passion of independent hospitality.
Beyond the logo and typography, a significant part of the project involved developing a comprehensive iconographic style guide, providing clear photographic guidelines for the establishments within the network. This ensures that each hotel and restaurant could maintain a consistent and elevated visual identity across all touchpoints, reinforcing the brand’s values of authenticity, passion, and excellence in hospitality.
Founded in 1954, Relais & Châteaux is a prestigious network of 580 exceptional hotels and restaurants worldwide, often family-run and passionate about providing authentic, personalized experiences. The refreshed branding reflects the values of this renowned French institution: authenticity, passion, and excellence in hospitality.
