I created the visual identity for the Opéra National de Paris, centered around the powerful and poetic idea of the leap. This concept was chosen for its depth and versatility, symbolizing movement, emotion, and transformation. A leap can evoke a range of feelings—from the despair of a dramatic fall to the exhilaration of soaring joy. It can represent a daring step into the unknown, a connection to history, or the elegance and physicality of a dancer in mid-air.
This notion of the leap became the foundation for the entire project, inspiring a dynamic visual language that captured the spirit of the Opéra. The posters, print materials, and overall design reflected this energy, blending bold compositions with a sense of fluidity and motion.
Every element was crafted to embody the richness and duality of the leap—both a physical gesture and a metaphor for artistic ambition and human emotion. This approach not only elevated the Opéra’s image but also resonated deeply with its audience, celebrating the transformative power of performance.
The project was widely recognized, earning multiple prestigious design awards and solidifying the Opéra de Paris as a beacon of cultural innovation and artistic excellence.
