The branding of the École Normale de Musique de Paris - Alfred Cortot reflects the school’s unique duality: a reverence for its prestigious heritage and a dynamic appeal to the next generation of musicians.
At the heart of the identity is a logo inspired by the fluidity of a musical score. Modular and polymorphic, it adapts and evolves like a melody, bringing movement and life to the school’s image. This concept extends to the broader visual identity, where typography plays the role of musical notes, creating bold and innovative layouts that are both playful and contemporary.
This proposal embodied a vision of harmony between the classical and the modern, offering a vibrant and dynamic reimagining of the school’s identity. While the client ultimately chose a different branding direction, the selected approach—now visible on the school’s official website— takes a more playful and youth-oriented perspective. Featuring vibrant colors and an energetic design language, it aligns with the school’s efforts to attract and inspire the next generation of musicians, and was also designed by me.
